It became an epic battle throughout Europe with Italy and Mussiolini siding with Hitler ’s Germany against the Allies including a large contingent of Australain Soldiers and servicemen .
War was also raged in the Asian and Pacific region with the US and Japan engaging in hostilities .Many Australian soldiers were interned in the notorious POW or Prisoner of War camps scattered throughout Asia such as Changi in Singapore . The Burma Railway was a scene of attrition for many brave Australian soldiers and the KOKODA trail in PNG became a great test of courage for Australian soldiers.
